Tuition for the M.F.A. programs in the Graduate School for the 2012–2013 academic year is $42,808.
Financial aid is available in the form of full and partial tuition scholarships, which will be awarded at the time of acceptance. Tuition scholarship grants are awarded on the basis of financial need, past performance, and evidence of potential success in the program.
Students may be eligible to borrow through the Federal Direct Student Loan Program. Consideration for need-based federal aid (Federal Direct Loans) is based on status as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. To borrow through this program, it is essential to complete the FAFSA, which is described below. For additional information about eligibility and the applications for the Federal Direct Loan Program, contact the Graduate School Financial Aid Office at (401) 863-2721.
Applicants who wish to apply for scholarship support:
- must complete a copy of the Brown/Trinity Supplemental Financial Aid Form, which can be found here. This form should be emailed directly to Jill Jann, Brown/Trinity Program Administrator. This form is only necessary if you are applying for scholarship support.
- must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be filed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA is due no later than January 12, 2013. In order to meet this deadline, it may be necessary to file an estimated FAFSA form.
